Bernd Schwarzer (born 24 July 1954 in Weimar) is a German artist. Schwarzer's work deals with the Subject Europe, the reunion of East and West Weimar as well as human rights matters.
==Life and Work==
Bernd Schwarzers Family moved 1959 from Weimer to Düsseldorf, where his Father was renowned Doctor. From early on Schwarzer showed a strong passion for Fine Arts. His Father recognized his son’s aspirations and encouraged and furthered him. Old Pictures portray a youthful Schwarzer sitting and painting at the families Kitchen table in Düsseldorf. As a Teenager Schwarzer already took great artists such as Van Gogh as inspiration and imitated some paintings as “Homages” dedicated to his role models. From 1976 till 1983 he studied Fine Arts under Werner Schriefers at the Kölner Fachhochschule. 1978 he then undertook a two-year-long Fine Art Study under Gerhard Hoehme at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where he moreover was a gust student of Joseph Beuys. Since 1984 he is working as an Artist in Düsseldorf, Köln und Weimar moreover he is a master student under Werner Schriefers at the Kölner Fachhochschule specializing in Art and Design. Since 2000 Bernd Schwarzer is a Guest Professor at the Academy of Arts in the Republic of Belarus in Minsk.
